Did you fall in love with Budapest’s stunning architecture? Are you interested in its hidden treasures, including beautiful staircases, inner courtyards, and stained-glass windows?
If you happen to be an English-speaking fan of this city and would like to join a tour in English that covers some of the most precious buildings of Budapest’s Art Nouveau heritage, you are more than welcome to join one of our tours.
The two of us run the tours: Judit Furi, a glass artist and glass restorer. She has been working on the restoration of most of Budapest’s art nouveau and late 19th-century glass heritage, as well as many windows around the country and region.
I have been a tour guide for over 30 years, mainly working in English at home and escorting groups all around Europe.
Join us on a walk behind the Opera. Some of the most precious examples of early 20th-century stained glass are hiding in private living quarters, where we are given special permits to enter. Our glass expert will explain the challenges and beauties of her profession and the uniquities of these beautiful pieces of art, while some stories of people and professions long washed away by history will be revealed.
The walk is on a flat surface with some stairs to climb and takes approx. 2,5 hours ending with a refreshment included in the price.
The meeting is on the corner of Bajcsy Zsilinszky út and Hajós utca, and the tour ends near the Opera.
